Rotameter Manufacturers
A rotameter is a device used to measure the volumetric flow rate of fluids inside closed tubes. It consists of a tapered tube typically made of glass with a weighted float inside it. This float is pushed up by the drag of the fluid's flow rate and pulled down by the force of gravity. The float must not have the same density as the fluid as it will float without any flow and, therefore, must always be heavier than the fluids. Their working principle allows them to operate without any electrical power.
These are relatively simple devices which are easy to manufacture. However, they do have certain disadvantages,
- They employ the principle of gravity, so it is a must to make sure the tube is always in a vertical position.
- The density of the fluid affects the elevation of the float in the tube; hence great care should be taken when considering the temperature levels of a certain fluid.
These devices are in abundant use in various industries, and they are reliable, do not require an electrical power input and are cheap to manufacture.
