Thermowell Manufacturers
Thermowells are devices used to guard temperature sensors like thermocouples and RTDs against damage from pressure, media velocity and corrosion in process systems. It acts like a barrier between the process medium and the sensor taking a measurement.
It is usually consisting of a cylindrical fitting which encloses the sensor, and the tube-like apparatus is closed at one end. It is then placed inside the process media with the sensor in it. The process media then transfers the heat to the thermowell, which can be measured by the sensor placed inside without ever coming under any harm. It acts like a shield for the sensor inside of it.
The time it takes to get a reading is increased as a result because of the heat transfer that has to take place between the media and the thermowell, but the usefulness of the device itself compensates for that.
